Su Gautam

Hello, I’m Su, a psychotherapist with specializations in ADHD and executive dysfunction. My personal experience with ADHD profoundly shapes my professional approach, allowing me to connect with clients on a deeper level and offer insights that are both empathetic and practical. Fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi, I am dedicated to providing culturally sensitive and inclusive support.

My Journey and Therapeutic Approach

My academic journey has led me to completing a Masters in Psychotherapy and a Masters in Psychology, providing me with a strong foundation in mental health care. However, my personal experience with ADHD is what truly inspires my approach as a therapist. Having lived with and managed ADHD myself, I bring a unique perspective that allows me to offer empathetic and practical support to my clients.

My therapeutic philosophy is rooted in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can openly explore their experiences and challenges. I believe in trauma-informed care, recognizing the influence of past trauma on current behaviour and emotions, and work collaboratively with clients to develop personalized strategies for resilience and self-discovery. A core aspect of my work is creating a non-judgmental, safe space where clients can explore their experiences without fear of criticism. I am committed to trauma-informed care, recognizing the impact of past trauma on current behaviour and emotions. This approach allows me to offer support that is sensitive to each client’s history and experiences, helping them to navigate their inner critical voices and build resilience.

ADHD and Executive Dysfunction

In my practice, I specialize in ADHD and executive functioning support, employing a range of evidence-based techniques including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. My practice is informed by a commitment to creating a supportive environment where clients can engage in meaningful self-exploration and personal growth. My personal journey with ADHD enriches my professional perspective, allowing me to offer insights and strategies that resonate deeply with clients’ experiences and foster a collaborative, empowering therapeutic relationship.  My specialized training through CADDRA enables me to address the specific needs of clients with ADHD, focusing on improving time management, organization, planning, emotional regulation, and motivation.
